The first “Primakov Readings” were held at the Moscow World Trade Center on October 29, 2015. They were timed to the birthday of the outstanding politician and scientist Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov, who passed away in June 2015, and dedicated to the commemoration of the statesman. 

Friends and colleagues recalled the work with Yevgeny Primakov and appreciated his contribution to Russian politics, journalism and scientific activity. 

According to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, “The “Primakov Readings” will initiate the profound, comprehensive study of the rich scientific, creative and humanitarian heritage of the outstanding statesman.”

Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko proposed to give the “Primakov Readings” the status of the international forum and to hold it annually on the birthday of the politician on October 29.
